- Kardi Tivali, Born Emeil Williams, is an unassuming man. Towering at over 6 feet tall, he commands your attention at the first sign of engagement. He is most comfortable in the studio, where he does everything from writing and producing hits to voicing them himself. Growing up he was an avid sports fan and player. As a member of the prestigious Kingston College track & field team, he was a promising star. It was music, however, that ultimately won his heart and pushed him to the level of social consciousness that he now navigates. With inspiration from the most High, his roots and culture and the powerful motivation of good musicians of all times, the elders and true originators of Reggae and Dancehall music, Tivali was propelled to a greater understanding of the divinity of music. Using music to express himself and articulate his innermost thoughts, Tivali profoundly understands the impact that music can have on its recipients. It is with this in mind that his work is such a potent and unrelenting art form. Bringing people together is also one of his many aspirations as a musician. Taking a page from the books of Marley, Tosh, and the like, he has transcended the insular understanding of music and now has an appreciation of the broader implications of music as a source of inspiration weaving through the veins of all of us. Tivali has numerous songs in rotation, as both artiste and producer, currently. These include Sophia Squire's Nature's Calling and Love Cyaa Pay Di Bills as well as the prolific Dark and Stubbaan single, which was produced by Suspectz Productions. This track has propelled his career to new heights, leaving music critics begging for more. Natasha Von Castle, CEO and Editor in Chief of L3 Magazine stated in an article that “it’s a bad man chune, but on the other hand, it’s the kind of chune you make a statement with! From the intro alone you get the warning… this ah some Claudie Massop type ah music, Vivian Blake type ah music / Jim Brown and Dudus dem music / Skeng and Clerendon music / some Bun Man and Bulby kinda music / One Order and Clans type ah music / some Flankaz, Canterberry, Mobay / Real Jamaican bad man music….” He has collaborated with a wide variety artistes including Pinchers, Half Pint, Yellow Man, Kiprich, Alozade, Twin of Twins, Lawgiver, Rich Ras, Merciless and Munga. As a professional Reggae musician, he has performed at clubs, festivals and venues throughout Jamaica to a wide array of audiences. As Kardi Tivali climbs his way to the pinnacle of this highly competitive industry, there is no doubt that he will grow exponentially on his musical journey. With his innate talent and an eye for the creative impetus that create stars, the world will be forced to make room for this congenial, yet militant musical genius.
