- As a child Lady Dynamq collected reggae music in particular, because it was the music she most identified herself with. Reggae artists such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, Third World, Beres Hammond, Dawn Penn, and Marcia Griffiths, just to name a few, had a heavy influence in her life. At age 13 a local Jamaican sound system "Black Lion Sound" member, Everton Thomas began to teach Lady Dynamq how to DJ. She would practice with him every time he had a moment to spare. He would be outside fixing cars & Lady Dynamq would be spinning from a system he had set up in his house. Lady Dynamq moved to Brooklyn, New York when she was 18 years old, where she found love for Dancehall music on a totally different level than what she had been exposed to early in life. This is when she decided that she wanted to take selecting on a more serious level. She began making mixed tapes for friends and family, which gained her recognition in the community that she lived in. After Lady Dynamq relocated back to Cincinnati, Ohio, she was introduced to an entertainer by the name of Papa Muntu. He wanted to give her some exposure in Cincinnati, so he invited her to play the early juggling segment for Bob Marley’s “Wailers”, at Bogart’s Night Club. Since then she has played on WAIF 88.3FM radio for the past 8 years and also Burning Rockers internet radio. In 2009 Lady Dynamq earned degrees in Office Administration and also Business Administration in 2010. She incorporates her knowledge into Cordite Sound, also partner owned by Lennox, where she is responsible for managing & booking the sound and and promoting reggae music.
