- Popcaan or Poppi, is a Jamaican dancehall artist. Sutherland is originally from Seaforth, St Thomas, Jamaica. As a youngster he attended the Happy Grove High School located in Hector's River, Portland Jamaica where he began to show signs of his love for and desire of wanting to become a dancehall artiste. During his high school days, poppi was associated with other potential dancehall acts such as Zebbi D, Gilberto, and War Hammer just to name a few. He was known by many to be somewhat of a trouble maker during his high school days, as he was always getting into trouble with authority within the school. In 2007, he was spotted at a party and asked to join Kartel's group Portmore Empire.
