Buju Banton Celebrates His 38th Birthday Today - In Jail
Buju Banton is spending his 38th birthday behind bars.
The Gargamel was born Mark Myrie this day 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Buju Banton has been in US custody since December 10 last year, after being charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilos of cocaine, a charge he denies.
Just recently, the dancehall deejay and his lawyers requested that his case to be tried separately from the other two men charged in the drug saga but it was orally denied by the court.
Buju’s trial is currently set on the September trial calendar. While a status conference hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 4.
