Emerging Dancehall/Reggae label, Akom Records aims to stamp their authority within the local music scene with the release of their newest compilation, the Full Swing Riddim.

With an up-tempo melody fit for clubs in Jamaica and across the globe, the Full Swing Riddim offers a Dancehall vibe with a pop-like sound immersed within for music lovers of different genres to enjoy. Coupled with the hybrid feel to the Full Swing Riddim, Akom Records’ latest project features many Dancehall and Reggae acts whose vocal abilities and sounds fit perfectly with the compilation.
One of the featured artistes on this new Riddim is Konshens, who encourages people to enjoy the fruits of their labour without any hassle through his single, Good Life. The track once again proves his chemistry with Akom Recordsregardless of the beat or sound as proven with the Reggae-themed 2010 hit, Weak.

Prominent Dancehall group, Voicemail follows suit with their club anthem, Shots which also speaks to responsible enjoyment after a hard day’s work. Other notable hits for local music fans to groove to on Full Swing include the ladies’ anthem, Wine to the Ground by Dancehall legend, Beenie Man as well as She Keep Herself Right by emerging Dancehall/Reggae star, Jah Marnyah and Jump by British based Jamaican singer, Lukie D.

Reggae also shines on the Full Swing Riddim as Jah Mason teams with Silvercat on the self-empowerment anthem, Our World while highly acclaimed Reggae singer, Turbulence highlights the strong presence and impact of the Rastafari Movement with his single, Rasta Children Large which spreads the message of rising above hate. Suga Roy and Conroy Crystal also prove they’ve still got it and then some with the conscious track, Nah Go Dung Deh.

Other notable tracks on the Full Swing Riddim include Rolling in the Deep by up-and-coming singer, Novine which hails as a more up-tempo version of Adele’s Grammy-Winning track with the same time. Also, fast rising lyricist, Cee Gee showcases his unique style on the hard-hitting track, Bad. 

Composed in collaboration with Fire Ball Records, the Full Swing Riddim has garnered positive attention via YouTube, earning close to 10,000 views since the singles and a preview of the full Riddim was unveiled last week. The compilation was officially released on iTunes May 29th and is now available for purchase on the digital music outlet.
With the summer closing in, the Full Swing Riddim will surely take music fans into overdrive.
